• Private Landlords:

Depending on the type of tenancy, private landlords are able to rent their property usually at the market rate and have possible rights to increase rent. Ensure you get a tenancy agreement and read it very carefully prior to committing.

- How much deposit is required and who holds it

• Council and Social Housing:

If rented accommodation is required, you could well be eligible for council or housing association accommodation. However, housing associations do not generally allocate houses to people directly, it would only be through the council’s housing list. The council allocates housing to those in great need from the ‘list’ and usually the property is in demand.

• Student Accommodation:

Information for higher education students can alleviate in making choice of courses to take on and the place of study, in addition to finding a place to live.
